Introduction The introduction of the series P450 profile Generator heralds a new era in the application of multifunction instruments to process control systems. A user friendly, totally menu-driven instrument, provides a high level of accuracy throughout a profile for up to 3 output channels. All parameter entries are via suitably identified front panel membrane-type push-buttons, in response to simple prompts indicated on a 4 line x 16 characters per line supertwist liquid crystal display. The P450 has been designed to work with FGH micro-processor based controls such as the Proteus 1000, 2000 and 3000 series, the Vigilant 900 series and the Magipak 500 series. All data is transferred digitally; thereby eliminating D/A and A/D conversion errors as may be experienced with other manufacturers' equipment. Product Features Perhaps the most significant feature of the P450, displaying it's total flexibility, lies in the fact that the customer need only specify the number of output channels and supply voltage required. All other operational requirements can be programmed into the instrument by following the prompts which appear on the liquid crystal display. One, two or three output channels can be provided, and up to 16 different profiles, each of 25 segments can be entered and stored in memory. Each profile stored can be assigned a "name" of up to 13 characters and a profile index set up. 15 different P.I.D. settings can be entered and stored, together with up to 15 alarm level settings; any of these settings may be applied to any segment in a profile. Profiles can be started in any segment in the main profile; if a typical user profile only contains 8 segments, this allows three sub-profiles to be set up within one main profile. By this, up to 48 profiles could be stored. Set point outputs for each channel are in digital form, and 16 programmable digital event outputs are also available for driving external relays. (Where relay outputs are required use DRR8 relay modules). |
